This is, I believe, the most expensive item I have ever featured on this site. I’ve put some rather rad and insanely expensive things up here as part of the Obsession of the Day series, but this Loree Rodkin ring tops out at slightly under the grand total of my first car..

…and it’s worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY.

My attention was drawn to this piece after Madonna was spotted wearing a lot of Rodkin’s pieces during her pre- Super Bowl interview with Bob Costas . Spotting said pieces made me go on the hunt for other items from the designer and this armor ring caught my eye…and my heart…and a spot on my Fashion Bucket List.

Rodkin’s pieces are always crafted with a touch of dark mystery, dripping in diamonds and rock and roll glamour. I love how she seems to take pieces of religious and historical iconography and honor them in a nod to its classic use, then twist it to some front stage vision she’s holding in her head.
