If the flurry of new stores is any indication, retail is roaring back to life in and around Nashville.
Home decor, accessories and womens apparel make up the retail mix of new offerings. Ive fallen in love with more than a few of these brilliant newbie shops. They run the gamut in price point, merchandise and locale, making it a sure bet you will find a new shopping venue that works for your style and budget. You soon may be falling in love, too. Heres the rundown on six of my favorites:
Cadeau Gifts
& Home
200 Bear Creek Pike, Columbia, Tenn., 931-381-4211
The tagline for this hidden treasure trove is pure French goodness. While the merchandise has a decidedly vintage Paris flea-market vibe with a chic bend, the store has country roots, too.
Owner Frannie Daughritys grandmother, Francis Preston, was assistant to Hank Williams and became CEO of music giant BMI. Daughrity met Holly Williams, daughter of Hank Williams Jr., and managed her now-closed furniture store in Nashville. When Williams store closed, Daughrity, with the encouragement of her grandmother, decided to open her own shop. The result is a confectionery delight of gifts and home decor items that had me entranced.
