Golfers cited for trespassing

WIND POINT - Two men were cited for trespassing after they golfed around 3:47 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6 at the closed Shoop Park Golf Course, 4510 Lighthouse Drive, according to the Wind Point Police Department.

David J. Marweg, 21, of Caledonia, and Steven A. Riegelman, 23, of Racine, were both cited for trespassing at the golf course, which is closed for the season, a fact posted on signs through the park, police said.

An officer saw the men swinging clubs and hitting golf balls near the course’s seventh hole during a regular patrol of the area. The officer also spotted about 30 fresh divots by the seventh hole tee box. The men fixed the divots, police said.

Trailer, rims stolen from backyard

STURTEVANT - Nearly $2,000 worth of items have been stolen from a backyard in the 9600 block of Charles Street, the property owner reported to Sturtevant police around 8:38 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3.
