He’s the voice that has earned The O’Jays many top-selling hits – “Backstabbers”, “I Love Music”, “Family Reunion”, Stairway to Heaven”, “For the Love of Money” and the number one single “Love Train” – and it’s those vocals that will headline the 40th Annual Red Cross Ball.

Eddie Levert, a founding member of the pioneering 1970s Soul/R&B group and 2005 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, The O’Jays will take to the stage at the ball that this year has been dubbed “Rubies & Diamonds”. The ball will be held on Saturday, January 28 at the Crystal Ballroom of the Wyndham Nassau Resort.

Levert, backed by an 11-piece band that will be coming into the country will perform a 90-minute set that promises to be high-energy, and fun, says Red Cross Ball co-chair and publicist Kathy Davis Maciel. She says it will be definitely worth the money. Tickets are $225 for the black tie, red carpet affair.

“He (Levert) just performed in Miami the other day and a lot of Bahamians went over and were thrilled with his performance, and have been calling for tickets because they want to see him perform again and are happy that he’s at the ball,” said Davis Maciel. “We’re very excited that Eddie Levert has decided to be our guest artist this year.
